PinkDrive Road Trip to Comrades: (26 May 2011)
PinkDrive did a few activations on their way to the Comrades Marathon 2011. Women were educated and the message was spread that early detection saves lives!
On 24 May PinkDrive did an activation in KwaNgcolosi where they taught the women (and men) of this community about the importance of early detection and also oerformed free cliinical breast examinations.
On 25 May PinkDrive went to SA Home Loans in La Lucia where they did a Corporate Wellness Event and taught the employees all about early detection and self examinations.
On 26 May, PinkDrive worked with the Chatsworth Community at the Lotus Primary School. This wa made possible by the WONDERFUL headmaster of Lotus, Mr Soobramoney . The pupils of this school pays no school fees as they operate on donations and support from the community. They have opened their doors and hearts. There is such an amaising sense of "doing" - people are committed to the community & are grateful for the work the wonderful nurses were performing.
A very special thanks goes out to Mr Clive Pillay who made this day happen by feeding hundreds of mouths. Truly an inspiring man! |
